Pre-K: Discover the St. Albans Difference

You have many options… here are just some of the reasons to explore St. Albans!

Academic Preparation-Pre-K at St. Albans emphasizes cognitive learning, social and emotional development, and physical growth and development.

In our uniquely scholastic environment, students experience a child-centered curriculum of Language Arts (reading readiness and language development), Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Spanish, Art, Music and Drama, Library and Physical Education.

Purposeful Enrichment-Plentiful opportunities for active learning and play include class field trips, on-site extracurricular activities (including golf and tennis), Pre-K / 4th grade buddies, all-school assemblies, school- wide performances, dress-up days, and school-wide traditions.

Activities and age-appropriate learning are designed to prepare students with the skills and experiences needed to excel in kindergarten, primary grades, and the myriad of educational environments to follow.

Flexiblty-Pre-K classes are held Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Exceptional Day Care is available before and after school through our on-site Day Care program, exclusively for St. Albans students. Hours of care are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with no advance reservation required, offering families flexibility and peace of mind.

Students enjoy a safe, nurturing environment that includes supervised homework time, snacks provided daily, free play, and structured craft and enrichment activities. Our Day Care program is designed to support students academically and socially while providing a relaxed, engaging extension of the school day.

Pre-assessment-finding the right fit

  • Because we believe that the right educational environment is paramount to learning, prospective students undergo a pre-screening to ensure students have the school readiness, social/ emotional development, attentiveness, and desire to learn that is required to be successful in our program.

Please note: Prekindergarten applicants must be at least 4 years old by September 1 of the year applying to be admitted to the pre-k program.
